Personal Statement
Involved in the establishment of Kohanga Reo and Te Reo Maori Programmes. Wider interests include the preservation of the environment and conservation from the Holistic perspective. This has been done through uplifting other's awareness of the frailty of our land, forests and sea through disseminating material and speaking at overseas conferences. Monitoring as well as presenting submissions from a Maori perspective that will benefit all people of Aotearoa, now and for the future.
Current Positions of Responsibility:
Pauline Tangiora is involved in many areas of participation in both the Pakeha and Maori world e.g. Runanga Kuia, Women's, Environmental, Health and Spiritual groups. She is involved in various community advisory events as an elder and counsellor. She continues to attend many international fora on Human Rights, Spiritual Leadership, Peace and Conflict Resolution and Indigenous issues.
2018 Awarded Wisdom Fellowship Award by the Sacred Fire Foundation, Berkeley US.
2017 Awarded International Bremen Peace Award by the Schwelle Foundation, Germany.
