Tempting

They come — white shirts ties
briefcases yuppy car
there is no emotion, as if a potion has been sprayed. All is quiet.

Everything laid out — perfection,
well educated, immaculate.

On the dot they begin to speak, emotionless. Look at watch STOP!

Questions — none
Cup of Tea — one
Huh — duty done — gone

The dust settles. There is little talk as cleaning up is done.
How could they do this?
Don’t they know these are people?

Proud loving caring
Yes maybe arrogant in defence of what little remains of one’s dignity.

NO, my people will not bend to those who care not
for our land
our sea.

Keep their monies — we shall survive for generations to come.
